Dear All
We regret to tell you that Frank Dullehan died peacefully at his home on Christmas Eve.
Frank was a loyal member of the Hereford RFC for nearly 70 years and will be sorely missed by club members and his many friends. He had been an active committee member since the mid fifties and served in many capacities including President, Chairman and Secretary.
He had a playing career covering the seasons from the early fifties to the mid seventies. In his youth, he was a speedy winger or scrum half and finished up deputising at hooker for injured skipper Derek Miles. His further contributions to the game of rugby included active involvement with the Hereford and Worcester RU and the North Midlands RFU.
As Head of P.E. at the Whitecross and St Mary’s High Schools, Frank introduced many generations of boys to a wide range of sporting activities.
He himself was an athlete in his early years and enjoyed a game of course cricket. He was an enthusiastic golfer and for many years a member of the Herefordshire Golf Club.
Frank was a pupil a the Hereford High School for boys and was a lifelong member of the old boys association ultimately taking over as President.
Frank was very well liked and respected in the rugby community both locally and further afield. He and his very good friend Robin Davies both joined the club in the same season back in the fifties and have been firm friends ever since.
Our thoughts are with his family.
