In time old fashion last week, a party of Hereford Rugby Football Club players assisted by Robin and Lois Davies visited the hospital Children’s Ward to deliver Christmas presents and talk to the patients, parents and nurses on the ward.
The group led by skipper, Tom Ewins included (Prop) Neil Clark, (Fly-Half) Fran Jennings, (Hooker) Lewis Jordan, (Winger) Jordan Sheehy, (Scrum-Half) Connor Sullivan and also (Development Squad Assistant Coach) Dave Thomas.
Whilst spending time with the children the boys joined in painting the club badge on a ceiling tile to decorate the ward.
As always, the boys certainly enjoyed themselves. Bringing even more Christmas cheer to children receiving care and treatment on the ward.
Jordan (usually the joker of our pack) said,
“It was an experience that you can’t forget. It makes you realise how lucky you are and really makes you emotional being there with the children.”
Fran says,
“Going to the children’s ward to give out presents just makes me thankful that I can spend 5 minutes with people that need a distraction and hopefully we have put a smile on someone’s face in the process”.
Neil said,
“It was really special and I felt grateful to be part of putting smiles on the face of the children and even the parents at a time of pain”
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all the long hours and hard work that you do and wish all the patients a speedy recovery.
Lewis said,
“Being in hopsital at anytime of year is tough. With it being christmas time it must be extremly tough for families. Therefore as a local rugby club its nice to be able to try and spread a bit of festive cheer and give out some presents.”
Finally, we would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!
